Nb. There are known to be more Private Hire and Taxis operating in the area, however these are understood to be Wolverhampton licensed drivers and only permitted to work because one or two larger operators are using cross-border.

Where are the Taxi Ranks?

There are four full time taxi ranks in Doncaster City Centre and these are located at the following places.

  • High Street
  • St. Sepulchre Gate
  • East Laith Gate
  • Doncaster Train Station

Railway Station Taxi Rank

Immediately outside the front of the Doncaster Station is a drop off and collect area for all vehicles. The Taxi Rank is however a slight walk around the side of the station, facing right as you leave the terminal. Walk around to the right and the Taxis are available.

St Sepulchre Gate Taxi Rank

The St Sepulchre Gate Taxi rank is situated outside the southern most Entrance to the Frenchgate Shopping Centre and is a stones throw from the railway station.

High Street Taxi Rank

The High St Taxi Rank in Doncaster consists of a number of parking bays either side of the one way road and is situated very close to the Mansion House. This Taxi Rank is most centrally located at a cross roads.

East Laith Gate

This Taxi Rank is on the far side of the town and is a good size for about fifteen taxis during the day time. It is the nearest Taxi Rank located to Christ Church.

There are number of 8 seater vehicles that are licensed as Private Hire vehicles however these tend to be operated by more specialist providers. Individual operators will be able to advise on their fleet.
